2023 Music #AcadiaWrapped

As we near the end of 2023, we wanted to take a beat to celebrate some of the fantastic projects we’ve helped record and mix over this past year. 2023 was a big year for Acadia: we purchased and installed a 32 channel SSL Origin console (see part 1 and part 2 in more detail here), we added some exciting new gear for musicians to use including a new Pearl Session Series Crimson Burst Kit, a RODE NTK mic which Jason has loved for tracking fiddle, and a killer array of new cymbals and a rototom with an attached snare, thanks to Joe Beninati! We also learned that our trusty RCA-77 ribbon microphone is actually a 77-C model , which, according to RCA microphone restoration expert Jerry Silvia ,“The C is the rarest of the chrome/black series as they were destroyed by the repair center when they were returned for repair and replaced with the C1 at no charge. They were a failed attempt to offer an external directional pattern selector switch.”

Most importantly, we worked with a diverse cadre of musicians to make great music. Below is a grid featuring projects that were released this past year. You can click through each image to listen, and we’ve also made a handy Spotify playlist at the bottom of this post featuring some of our favorite tracks. Happy listening! And, as always, go support Maine music! Buy records, go see live shows, and celebrate all the energy and love that went into each of these projects!
